Buckets privacy policy

Effective 7 October 2026.

In short: Buckets processes your screenshots only on your phone. The app has no permission to use the internet, so nothing it reads or computes can leave the device. We don't collect, receive, sell or share any of your data.

What the app reads

With your permission, Buckets reads the images in your photo library, or only the ones you choose if you give it limited access, to find and sort screenshots. You can change or revoke this access at any time in Android's settings.

What the app computes, and where it stays

For each screenshot, the app computes on your phone:

• a numerical description of what the image shows (an embedding), made by an AI model that runs on the device;
• the text visible on the screenshot, read by on-device text recognition;
• which bucket it belongs to, and the buckets' names.

These are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. They are not included in Android's cloud backup. Embeddings can reveal roughly what a screenshot shows, which is one more reason they never leave the device.

No internet access

Buckets does not declare Android's internet permission, so the app itself cannot send anything over the network. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting.

The AI model files are downloaded by Google Play when you install the app, like the app itself. Google Play's handling of that download is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Clearing the app's storage in Android's settings, or uninstalling the app, deletes everything it computed. Your screenshots themselves are never changed or deleted by the app unless you ask it to.

Your rights

Because we receive no personal data, we hold nothing about you to access, correct or delete. If you have questions, write to kontakt@codeloom.pl. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Children

Buckets is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If the app ever starts handling data differently, for example with an in-app purchase, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
